Health Risks at Work Award

In recognition of outstanding work done to improve workplace health.

This award is made by the SGUK Awards Committee as a collaborative decision, drawn from entries to our other awards. SGUK has been actively leading and promoting a campaign called Health Risks at Work, since 2012.  Originally focusing on skin health and moving to other topics over the years.  Our focus on mental health in 2019 led us to make an award to recognise outstanding work done to improve mental health risks.  The Health Risks at Work Award went to Grangemouth Contractor Safety Alliance for a video highlighting the need for work colleagues to look out for signs of mental ill health, particularly signs of potential suicide, and to try help them by talking about it.  The video is called “#NoStigma”.  It provides a powerful message and can easily be related to any workplace or at home.

Their work in this important area was initially acknowledged at our Awards Ceremony in London, held at the Royal Horseguards Hotel in February 2020 - a few weeks before the onset of COVID 19.

Further recognition and a special trophy were presented at the 2022 Awards Ceremony in Scotland.
